Utopia Kingdoms New UI

The team have been hard at work on changes to our existing user interface (UI). Though the work is not yet complete, the art and design team have been dying to show off some of the work they’ve been doing. So we thought we’d post some images. Please remember that this is a work in progress and the final results may differ.

If you have any feedback or thoughts to share about these images please do visit our forums and post in the Utopia Kingdoms New UI feedback thread.

A Mysterious New Race

A mysterious new race of beings has been spotted on the outskirts of some of the outlying countries. Some rulers report that these creatures are benevolent, some report violence. We do not yet know what they want.

Can you guess the motives or origins of this new species? The Utopian Lords have informed us that the guesses that make them smile the most may be rewarded! The Gods do so like to laugh at the misfortunes of mortals. Guesses on our forums!

Treasure Tally – The Translocator

Today we focus on the first of our featured Treasure items - The Translocator.

Ancient relics left over from the decedent age of the Old Utopians, the Precision Translocator can be used on the World Map to relocate your Kingdom to any unoccupied territory, anywhere in Utopia. The Defective Translocator moves your populace to a random location, in a random Country.

Thanksgiving Gems Sale – Last Day!

To celebrate the holiday we are having a gems sale! Yes, that’s right for this weekend only, the cost of all gem packages will be halved!

This means that:

55 Gems was 50, is now only 25

The Demonic General

Today we have some stunning art from our talented art team depicting the coveted Day Five reward of the Demonic General in all his ..er..glory for you to enjoy!

When the Demonic General is invoked, your military will deal huge amounts of damage in attack and defense, and will take less casualties for a full 24 hours. This Treasure Item cannot be bought, it is only attainable by proving yourself as a dedicated ruler.

Focus on Military Units – Dark Elves

Dark Elves!

This week we are taking a peek into the murky world of the Dark Elves.

Dark elves have the disadvantage that their population growth is reduced by 10% but they make up for this with their construction costs being reduced by 10%. Additionally, Crucifiers cost 10% less to produce than comparable units in other armies.

Dark elf infantry units are Slaves, Cultists, Sadists and Destroyers and their heavy ranged units are Crucifiers. They have no longbow units. Their mounted units are Shadow Stalkers, Blood hunters and Reavers and their spellcasters are Archons.

Focus on Military Units – Avians

The Avians!

For the first of our regular focus posts we are flying into the trees to take a quick look at the Avian military and bring you some new artwork.

Avians have very powerful spellcasters the Airweavers, who can attack before any other unit but they suffer a slight penalty in recruiting cavalry units. Additionally Avians do not have any Heavy Melee mounted class.

Avian units are named as follows, Infantry – Spear Braves, Dagger Braves, Hatchet Braves, Mace Braves, Ranged – Carrion Tribe, Eagle Tribe, Falcon Tribe, Mounted – Feral Crows and Great Eagles.

It’s been a while since we last gave you a glimpse of some new art work, so we managed to find this intimidating winged reptile that just loves to breath fire and eat your peasants. In between gobbling up your population and looking menacing, what other things should you think this mighty beast should do for you and your kingdom? We’re checking out some improvements on dragons at the moment, but there may be things we have missed. Let us know what you’d like to see over here!

One of the most destructive of the worms left upon Utopia these creatures are capable of creating massive destruction and mayhem upon a kingdom – use them wisely however, once they taste the blood of war they can be highly unpredictable and may even turn upon you!
